Helensburgh 10K 17th May

Charles Ferguson, Andrew Gilthorpe and Toby Corner are heading to Helensburgh tonight to compete in the firs race of the polaroid series. Good luck guys hope you get a pb!

Bealach Beag 12th May

Results:  Julian in in a time of 3:08:02 - with a puncture, Stan 3:14:51 and Colin 3:14:53...looks like Stan could not resist the sprint for the line!Yell...well done guys

Club Confined Cycling TT 03/05/12

Good turn out for the first TT of 2012, in good conditions with a tailwind to bring the cyclists home saw Julian but in a blistering ride for the first sub 30 min ride of the year and other PBs Cool  Thanks to Hazel W for timing and Bill Young for taking a great series of photos of the TT - Results on cycling page.

Looks like a big turn out from the club for this fantastic race organised by the club, Mid Argyll Athletics and Mid Argyll Jog ScotlandCool....weather looking good and the possibility of a gentle breeze behind...so PB potential...might also be some friendly rivalry...mind games already commenced!

 Club Cycling Time Trial Thursday 3rd May 2012 6.45pm

Yes the first one of the season -this is a club confined event- so if you are not a member you can't join in the fun!

First cyclist will be away sharp at 6.45pm.

John Rea is in the capital and has started the carbo loading process, visited the Expo and is starting race prep by getting kinaesthetic taped tomorrow?. Johns race number is 9868 if you want to follow him?

Scottish Gas National Open  Short Course Masters Championships 2012- Saturday 21/04/12

Martin Waterhoiuse is competing in this national swim meet - entering the 100 IM, 50, 100 and 200m freestyle. Out to improve his results and PBs from last year

Kintyre Way Relay Saturday 16th June 2012.  

Rob Reid, Event Organiser has been in touch. He is looking for assistance in marshalling the above event; in particular sweeping the various stages to ensure everyone is off the course.

The stages are Tarbert to Clachan 22 miles, Clachan to Carradale 24 miles, Carradale to Campbeltown 20 miles. The course is mountain bikeable (a couple of sections for fairly short distances will require to be on foot).

For your assistance you will be provided with food and a ceilidh, free of charge, at Campbeltown Bowling Club.

Madrid Half Marathon 01/04/12

On April 1, 2012, the Madrid Half Marathon will take over the city's main streets, starting and ending at the Retiro Park.
Enock Kipchirchir Mitei from Kenya and Soud Frehiwat Goshu from Ethopia won the 2011 edition,.

In 2012 the race will be graced by an all star cast from Mid Argyll Tri- Hazel W, Hazel M, Lorna and Diana will be lining up with the 12,000 + entrants. Have a great race ladies!

Oban Atlantis Race series 

The first race of the series a 10k is on tonight(27/03/12) starting at 6.30pm. Some members of the club heading up to run like the wind on what is going to be a cracking evening. Good luck folks

Barnlusugan "Flash and Dash"- 7pm Friday 17th Feb - Club Training Event

Great turn out last nght, the rain held off and folk certainly Flashed as they Dashed- well done to Bay Watch, Ewen and Kieran who were first to brighten up the night sky. SCOTTISH SEA FARMS CRINAN PUFFER 8.5 

Over a hundred entries have now been received for the event. Two local men were 1st and 100th entrants, Dave Payne and Andy Law. Large contingent coming from Campbeltown Running Club but Giffnock North AAC, by far, has the largest number of entrants from an individual club. Thanks very much for your support.

 Buchlyvie 10K 21st Jan  

Looking out the window, (ok it’s dark at the moment) it is wet windy and soggy, but that is not deterring a good turnout from the club for this early season flat trail race. Subject to the underfoot conditions there is a fair chance of a PB. So good luck everyone -  Charles, Dave, Rebecca, Alistair, Colin, Richard, Stephen, Kirsty, Matt..Anyone else?

New Years Honours 2011

Graham MacQueen has been awared an MBE for services to charity in the Oban and Lorn area and Bill MacCallum has been awarded an MBE for services to sport in Argyll and Bute.

Barnlusugan "Shift that Turkey" duathlon- 08/01/12- 11.00am

Back and bigger then last year...or is that just because of the excesses of the season....this club confined, do it at your own risk for fun and the ultimate lollipop prize!...a nice flat 2 laps of the loch, followed by an MTB cycle up to the view point above the river add and a further 1 lap stroll around the loch.
